My approach to therapy has always been first and foremost to create a solid rapport with clients. From there, we can create individualized goals that meet the needs of each client. I began my journey in the counseling world just over four years ago, in Seattle WA. I have experience with adults, young adults, and adolescents, and I welcome clients from all ethnic/cultural, religious/spiritual backgrounds, with the promise of showing up every day practicing cultural humility. I also welcome folks who identify as a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, those that identify as straight, and those who may be questioning.
My theoretical background has stemmed mostly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. However, as stated before, I believe that therapy is most effective when the relationship between client and therapist is strong. For me that means creating a space that is nonjudgmental, authentic, and safe for everyone I encounter.
