As a counselor and art therapist, my desire is to support clients toward holistic healing – mentally, emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually – from a multicultural perspective. I endeavor to understand and honor each client’s unique experiences and worldviews and adapt my approach to best meet their needs within a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment. My goal is to empower clients with the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to overcome challenges from their own strength. I also seek to help clients find personal purpose and meaning in their lives and communities.
I use an integrative practice drawing primarily from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, existential, and solution-focused approaches. My therapeutic work combines traditional counseling and creative art therapy to facilitate expression and learning beyond the limits of language. I specialize in working with adults and couples but have experience working with teens and pre-teens as well. I can also offer counseling from a Christian perspective if requested but am very open to working with individuals from all faith or non-faith backgrounds.
