Thank you for visiting my profile page! I enjoy getting to know my clients from the very beginning, in order to focus our counseling work on what best fits each person, family, or couple. I believe in establishing a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship as the foundation for positive work with clients. I often incorporate aspects of Narrative Therapy and Adlerian Therapy into my work with clients, in addition to pulling from Bowen Family Systems theory and other theories centered around “whole-person” wellness. Mindfulness-based interventions, client-directed goal-setting, and emotionally-focused interventions are a few of the methods I commonly use with clients, though I’m always learning from new ideas and am open to trying whatever might work best with each unique client situation.
My professional background includes experience in teaching, academic advising, and college/career counseling, during which I’ve been able to come alongside and support individuals and families facing challenging circumstances, difficult decisions, and major life changes. I enjoy spending as much of my free time as I can with my spouse and two children. I also enjoy engaging with people in the real details of life and connecting with their stories, whether in the counseling room or in the rest of everyday life.
