What is counseling with us like?
During the first session, we will begin to get to know each other. This is the time for you to begin to share your story. We’ll talk about what you want to achieve from counseling and we’ll set some goals.
The second session allows us to dig even deeper into your story. We’ll also develop what’s called a “treatment plan.” This is a plan that we’ll create together. Think of it as a road map of your healing journey that helps bring focus and direction to our work together.
Subsequent sessions focus on getting to the root of your pain, plus developing techniques that you can practice between sessions to help you gain insight, reduce negative symptoms, practice healthy coping skills, and improve your overall well-being.
Sessions last for 45-55 minutes and are typically held once a week to start. As you start to achieve your goals and begin to feel better, we will space out our sessions until you feel you no longer need counseling.
Counseling sessions are offered in-person (for vaccinated clients), online, or even outdoors with walk and talk therapy. For your convenience, we offer day, evening, and weekend appointments.
We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards, flex spending accounts, health savings accounts, and some insurances (Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Blue Care Network).
Private pay fees range from $80 to $175. For those who are uninsured or have a high insurance deductible, we also have interns (counseling or social work students in their final year of graduate school) who offer low-cost sessions at $25.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Please click here to view our full GFE statement.
