What is counseling with us like?
During the first session, we will begin to get to know each other. This is the time for you to begin to share your story. We’ll talk about what you want to achieve from counseling and we’ll set some goals.
The second session allows us to dig even deeper into your story. We’ll also develop what’s called a “treatment plan.” This is a plan that we’ll create together. Think of it as a road map of your healing journey that helps bring focus and direction to our work together.
Subsequent sessions focus on getting to the root of your pain, plus developing techniques that you can practice between sessions to help you gain insight, reduce negative symptoms, practice healthy coping skills, and improve your overall well-being.
Sessions last for 45 minutes and are typically held once a week to start. As you start to achieve your goals and begin to feel better, we will space out our sessions until you feel you no longer need counseling.

We are private pay therapists, which allow us to provide you with complete confidentiality and personal, high-quality care. Should you choose to seek reimbursement, we are happy to provide you with a receipt called a “super bill” to submit to your insurance company. (Please note that not all insurance companies will reimburse for out-of-network providers, your confidentiality is not guaranteed, and they often require a diagnosis. It is for these reasons that many people choose to private pay.)
We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards, flex spending accounts, and health savings accounts.
Session fees range from $40 – $150 and a limited number of sliding scale appointments are available. For your convenience, we offer day, evening, and weekend appointments.
