Alize Morrow, Counseling Intern
I believe that every person has the ability to grow, heal, and make positive changes in their life. My approach is grounded in person-centered counseling, which means I work to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood and valued. I also draw from existential perspectives to explore meaning, purpose, and the choices clients face, and I use cognitive-behavioral strategies to build practical skills for managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. While these approaches guide my work, I believe every client is unique, and I use interventions that best fit each person’s needs and goals.
My style is warm, collaborative, and encouraging. I see counseling as a partnership where we work together to uncover strengths, navigate challenges, and create lasting change. Whether someone is facing a difficult life transition, relationship stress, or patterns that feel hard to break, I am committed to walking alongside them with compassion and curiosity.
I am currently a master’s student at Central Michigan University, where I am completing my clinical training. I also bring experience from my background in special education and years of supporting individuals with emotional and behavioral challenges. These experiences have strengthened my passion for helping people build resilience, self-understanding, and confidence in their ability to grow.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy slowing down and finding balance. In my free time, you can usually find me with a good book and a cup of coffee or spending time with my family.
